Friedrich Schiller University Jena

School of Philosophy
Intercultural Business Communication

The course Intercultural Business Communication was initially introduced as a minor for Business and Management students in the summer term 1992. We expanded rapidly and provide students since the winter term 2008/09 the opportunity to take a minor in Intercultural Business Communication for their Bachelor degrees or apply for our Master program Intercultural Human Resource Development and Communication Management. Since 2004 we also offer the one-year online degree Intercultural Coach/Trainer.

The programs are interdisciplinary and include classes in communication science, social sciences, foreign languages, cultural anthropology, negotiation and business courses with different focus regions, i.e. the United States, Russia, Italy, Spain, Japan, China, Germany, South America and Scandinavia.

Currently, 1100 students and 15 PhD students are enrolled at our unit.
